Itinerary Details
Start your adventure with a scenic flight from Entebbe to Kihihi, avoiding the long drive and soaking in beautiful aerial views. Upon landing, you’ll be transferred to Gorilla Forest Lodge by Sanctuary Retreats, one of the few lodges located inside Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Spend the rest of the day enjoying the tranquil forest setting.

This is the day you’ve been waiting for – a chance to stand in the presence of one of the planet’s most endangered and majestic creatures: the Mountain Gorilla. The day begins early with an energizing breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing from expert rangers. Then, it’s time to trek into the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bwindi. Every step of the journey feels like an exploration into an ancient, untouched world, with towering trees, colorful bird species, and the occasional rustle of wildlife in the underbrush.
After hours of anticipation, your patience pays off as you encounter a gorilla family in their natural habitat. Watch in awe as they play, groom, and move through the forest, their sheer presence leaving you breathless. The magic of locking eyes with a silverback is a moment that words can hardly capture.
After this once in a life-time experience, return to your lodge for an afternoon relaxation or a community visit to one of the community projects around the park.

This morning, take a guided walk along the Munyaga Waterfall Trail—a -/+ 3 hour scenic hike through dense forest leading to a hidden cascades, perfect for forest bathing, birding and spotting other wildlife. Later, visit the Pangolin Rescue Center to learn about conservation efforts for one of the planet’s most trafficked and secretive animals.

After breakfast, drive through the scenic highlands to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah park and a haven for plains wildlife. Check in at Mihingo Lodge, perched on a rocky outcrop with stunning views. In the evening, head out for a game drive to spot zebras, impalas, buffaloes, and more.

Start the day with a guided walking safari, a unique way to get close to wildlife and learn about the smaller wonders of the bush. After the walk, begin your return journey to Entebbe, arriving in time for your onward flight or an optional overnight stay.
