Murchison Falls can be visited year-round, but the best time to visit is during the dry season, which runs from June to September and December to February. During this time, wildlife is easier to spot as animals gather around water sources, and the roads are more accessible. However, visiting during the wet season (March to May and October to November) also has its advantages: fewer tourists, lush green landscapes, and a quieter, more serene experience.

GETTING THERE

Murchison Falls is accessible by both road and air. The park is about a 5-6 hour drive from Kampala, Uganda’s capital, and can be reached through the Masindi town, which lies just outside the park. For a quicker option, there are daily domestic flights from Entebbe to Pakuba Airstrip or Chobe Airstrip, which significantly reduce travel time, providing a more convenient and scenic arrival.
