BEST TIME TO VISIT QUEEN ELIZABETH

The best time to visit Queen Elizabeth National Park is during the dry season, which lasts from June to September and December to February. During this time, the wildlife is more concentrated around the water sources, making it easier to spot animals on game drives and boat safaris. The weather is also more favorable for outdoor activities, and the park’s roads are easier to navigate.

The wet season (March to May and October to November) offers a quieter experience, with fewer tourists and lush green landscapes, making it a great time for birdwatching and capturing the park’s landscapes in their full beauty.

GETTING THERE

Queen Elizabeth National Park is easily accessible by both road and air. The park is about a 6-7 hour drive from Kampala and can be reached via Mbarara. For those short on time, you can take a domestic flight from Entebbe to Mweya Airstrip or Ishasha Airstrip for a quicker, more scenic arrival.
